In an atmosphere filled with brotherhood and tolerance, Al Oumma Mosque in Amsterdam organized a collective iftar on March 25, attended by the Consul General of Morocco, H.E. Salim Lahjomri, along with the city’s mayor, Dutch officials, prominent figures, community activists, and members of the Moroccan and Dutch communities.
Also present were members of the Moroccan religious delegation sent by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, to accompany the community during this holy month.

In his speech, the Moroccan Consul General emphasized that this iftar represents the values of coexistence and rapprochement among the different components of Dutch society. He also highlighted the special care that His Majesty King Mohammed VI extends to his loyal citizens abroad, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, as a time to strengthen fraternal bonds and promote the noble human values of moderate and tolerant Islam.
For his part, Mr. Hussein Farah, Vice President of Al Oumma Mosque, praised this initiative, which brought together members of the Moroccan community, highlighting their success and active contribution to Dutch society while maintaining strong ties to their national values. He also stressed that this iftar is a valuable opportunity to showcase the moderate Islam championed by His Majesty the King and to promote Morocco’s rich cultural heritage.
This event, hosted by Al Oumma Mosque, was not just an occasion for breaking the fast but a true manifestation of the values of tolerance and cultural diversity, where Moroccans and Dutch people gathered in a spirit of mutual respect and unity, demonstrating that Moroccan Islam, under the leadership of the Commander of the Faithful, is a model of moderation, peace, and harmonious coexistence.
