Following our previous article titled: “Achahboun Under Fire: Are His Apologies Enough to Resolve the Crisis of Moroccans in the Netherlands, or Just a Detachment From Their Lived Reality?”, we received a significant response from the Moroccan community. They criticized the content of his statements, highlighting inaccuracies far removed from their reality.
Among these responses, we were struck by a comment from a Moroccan-origin lawyer who runs one of the largest law firms in the Netherlands. This lawyer, who preferred to remain anonymous, provided reliable information backed by links and reports exposing the truth behind this controversial incident. She confirmed that Moroccans had no involvement in the events that occurred in Amsterdam following the Ajax-Maccabi Tel Aviv match.
A Moroccan Law Firm Turns the Tables
The lawyer revealed that field investigations showed the three individuals arrested and prosecuted in connection with the incident were not of Moroccan descent. She added that systematic attempts are being made to mislead Dutch public opinion and tarnish the image of Moroccans by unfairly linking them to acts of violence, even though the facts confirm otherwise.
This lawyer, who enjoys a strong professional reputation in Dutch circles, stated that Achahboun’s speech and his apology on behalf of Moroccans lacked any objective basis or reliance on accurate information, causing significant discontent within the community. One comment we received sharply criticized this matter:
“Why is Achahboun apologizing on behalf of Moroccans? We bear no responsibility for these incidents. His statement reinforces ignorant narratives targeting the Moroccan community.”
Hidden Facts and Legitimate Questions
In light of this new information, a key question arises: Was Achahboun’s apology an attempt to gain sympathy from Dutch political circles, or was it a failure to verify facts before making public statements?
Based on the evidence presented by the Moroccan lawyer, we pose the following questions:
- Why did Achahboun’s statements fail to respect the facts proving Moroccans’ innocence?
- Does the “Dialogue” Foundation truly represent the concerns of Moroccans in the Netherlands, or is it being used to advance specific political narratives?
- How can communication between Moroccan elites and Dutch society be improved to ensure genuine representation based on facts rather than random accusations?
Dutch Moroccans: Innocent as the Wolf of Joseph’s Blood
These facts make it clear that Moroccans in the Netherlands, particularly in Amsterdam, had no involvement in the incident. The attempt to associate them with violence was an ill-considered move by parties seeking to unfairly assign blame. The responsibility lies in presenting a balanced narrative that clarifies the facts rather than yielding to distorted interpretations.
Towards a Fairer Response
It is important to note that the Moroccan community in the Netherlands constitutes an essential part of society, actively contributing to economic and social spheres. It is crucial that this group is not left vulnerable to hostile rhetoric and media targeting without appropriate defense from its leaders and representatives.
In conclusion: The question remains: Will Achahboun have the courage to admit that his apology was based on incorrect information? And will community leaders hold accountable those who speak in their name without regard for the truth?
