Mimo Kabbara: A New Era of Strategic Partnerships between Global Brands and Moroccan Cinema At the Closing of the Rabat International Festival of Auteur Cinema

During the remarkable closing of the Rabat International Festival of Auteur Cinema, we had the opportunity to speak with Mimo Kabbara, a French film producer based in Monaco — a global hub for major cinema events and prestigious film markets. Kebara praised the rapid evolution of Morocco’s film industry, driven by the vision and support of the Moroccan Cinema Center (CCM).

He emphasized that brand partnerships and product placement are now a key component of film financing, helping productions secure stronger budgets and giving directors the creative freedom needed to elevate Moroccan cinema to international standards. What used to be a simple commercial detail has become a major economic driving force within the industry.

Kebbara also highlighted that these innovative collaborations between brands and filmmakers create mutual benefits, allowing Moroccan productions to grow, expand their marketing reach, and compete in global markets. Reflecting on his visit to Rabat, he expressed admiration for the festival’s professionalism and its powerful role in global networking, bringing together talented producers, distributors, and creative voices from around the world. He sees Rabat becoming a solid meeting point for international collaboration and a strategic platform for Morocco to reinforce its presence within the global cinematic community.

Mimo Kabbara attended the festival alongside his wife, Rym, who played an active and supportive role in organizing meetings and networking with Moroccan and international industry professionals. Together, they strengthened ties between Cannes’ cinematic network and Morocco’s growing film ecosystem.

Kabbara praised the festival’s organization and the opportunities it provided for professional networking, positioning Rabat as a global cultural and cinematic crossroads.

He concluded with optimism, affirming that Moroccan cinema is entering a promising future — fueled by the CCM’s vision and by major festivals like the Rabat International Festival of Auteur Cinema, which continue to elevate Morocco’s presence on the international stage.
