Appointment of New Egyptian Ambassador to Russia.. Putin: Our relations with Cairo are strategic.. and praise for nuclear cooperation

Ambassador Hamdi Shaaban, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Russian Federation, presented his credentials to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to the official Facebook page of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the speech delivered by President Putin during the ceremony for receiving the credentials of a number of new ambassadors, he stressed the special nature of Egyptian-Russian relations, considering Egypt to be one of the most important countries in the Middle East and North Africa region.

President Putin also noted that relations between the two countries are based on mutual trust within the framework of the 2018 Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement.

Egyptian-Russian Cooperation

In a related context, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted the great importance Russia attaches to cooperating with Egypt to complete a number of major strategic projects, most notably the Dabaa nuclear power plant project and the Russian industrial zone in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

In a meeting with the Egyptian ambassador following the presentation of credentials ceremony, the Russian president was keen to emphasize his pride in the long-standing friendship he shares with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, and asked that his greetings be conveyed to him.

President Putin also expressed Moscow’s desire to deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries and to continue implementing mega-projects between the two countries, most notably the Dabaa nuclear power plant project, which he described as a landmark in the cooperation between Egypt and Russia.
