{"id":1207,"date":"2023-09-23T16:25:35","date_gmt":"2023-09-23T16:25:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/diplomatique.ma\/en\/?p=1207"},"modified":"2023-09-23T20:29:18","modified_gmt":"2023-09-23T20:29:18","slug":"qatar-our-stance-on-assad-regime-has-not-changed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/diplomatique.ma\/en\/qatar-our-stance-on-assad-regime-has-not-changed\/","title":{"rendered":"Qatar: \u2018Our stance on Assad regime has not changed\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Abdul Rahman Bin Jassim Al-Thani confirmed on Thursday that his country\u2019s stance towards the Syrian regime has not changed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This came in an interview with\u00a0<i>CNN\u2019s<\/i>\u00a0Christiane Amanpour in New York for the United Nations (UN) General Assembly session.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Concerning the\u00a0Arab League, Al-Thani stated that the decision to allow Syria to return is down to the league, adding that Qatar will not reject this because one vote will not make a difference.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe see that still, we don\u2019t see anything that makes him [Bashar Al-Assad] eligible to return to the Arab League. We try to explain our position,\u201d he stressed, adding that every Arab country is free to decide on normalisation with Syria.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"UE4CPZIpkG\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/diplomatique.ma\/en\/2023\/09\/23\/plo-faction-abbas-placed-palestine-issue-burden-on-international-community\/\">PLO faction: \u2018Abbas placed Palestine issue burden on international community\u2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;PLO faction: \u2018Abbas placed Palestine issue burden on international community\u2019&#8221; &#8212; diplomatic\" src=\"https:\/\/diplomatique.ma\/en\/2023\/09\/23\/plo-faction-abbas-placed-palestine-issue-burden-on-international-community\/embed\/#?secret=Ph66JOVBLE#?secret=UE4CPZIpkG\" data-secret=\"UE4CPZIpkG\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Emir expressed: \u201cWe cannot tolerate war criminals.
