Six other communities have seen their populations drop down by half.<\/p>\n<p class=\"swift-in-viewport\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe UN has recorded unprecedented levels of settler violence against Palestinians this year,\u201d said Lynn Hastings, humanitarian coordinator for the occupied Palestinian territory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"swift-in-viewport\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe humanitarian community is responding to their immediate needs, but there would be no need for humanitarian assistance if their fundamental rights were upheld.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"swift-in-viewport\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Some 10,000 residents remain in the assessed communities, and along with others across the territory, they are in urgent need of humanitarian support because of settler violence and the failure of Israeli authorities to hold perpetrators accountable, the UN explained.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/qudsn.co\/thumb\/w1110\/uploads\/images\/2023\/09\/zR1ht.jpeg\" alt=\"\u0627\u0644\u0623\u0645\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u062a\u062d\u062f\u0629: \u062a\u0647\u062c\u064a\u0631 1100 \u0641\u0644\u0633\u0637\u064a\u0646\u064a \u0645\u0646\u0630 \u0639\u0627\u0645 2022 \u0625\u062b\u0631 \u0627\u0639\u062a\u062f\u0627\u0621\u0627\u062a \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0633\u062a\u0648\u0637\u0646\u064a\u0646 -  \u0634\u0628\u0643\u0629 \u0642\u062f\u0633 \u0627\u0644\u0625\u062e\u0628\u0627\u0631\u064a\u0629\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"swift-in-viewport\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">This, together with Palestinians\u2019 inability to obtain approvals to build, demolitions, evictions, movement restrictions and ongoing settlement expansion, creates a coercive environment that contributes to displacement that may amount to forcible transfer, a grave breach of the Fourth Geneva Convention, the UN said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"swift-in-viewport\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the report, the UN says Palestinian herders require support for their livelihoods, including to feed and protect their herds, and humanitarian assistance to address their basic needs for shelter, food, water, education and health care.<\/p>\n<p class=\"swift-in-viewport\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Settlement expansion has been promoted by successive Israeli governments over nearly six decades, but current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu\u2019s far-right government has made it a top priority.<\/p>\n<p class=\"swift-in-viewport\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Settler firebrand and Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich now\u00a0oversees settlement policy\u00a0and has vowed to step up construction and to legalise outposts built without authorisation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"swift-in-viewport\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">All settlements and outposts are illegal under international law.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Illegal settlement expansion has been promoted by successive Israeli governments over nearly six decades, but Netanyahu&#8217;s far-right government has made it a top priority.
