The film depicts the epic <strong data-start=\"4309\" data-end=\"4324\">Green March<\/strong> through the perspectives of diverse characters and stars Mourad Zaoui, Zineb Triki, Saadia Azegoun, Said Bey, Driss Roukhe, and Aziz Dadas, portraying the intertwined destinies of those who participated in this historic event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"4553\" data-end=\"5022\">In his speech, <strong data-start=\"4568\" data-end=\"4588\">Mourad Benbrahim<\/strong>, counselor at the Moroccan Embassy in Canada, highlighted that the screening of \u201cAl Massira,\u201d coinciding with the <strong data-start=\"4703\" data-end=\"4742\">50th anniversary of the Green March<\/strong>, comes just days after the adoption of <strong data-start=\"4782\" data-end=\"4833\">United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797<\/strong> concerning the Moroccan Sahara, which affirms the relevance and primacy of the <strong data-start=\"4913\" data-end=\"4945\">Moroccan Autonomy Initiative<\/strong> as the only realistic solution to the artificially created regional dispute.<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"PxETLUoQiB4\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"CINEMANIA 2025 - Discours de Souriya Otmani au Gala d\u2019Ouverture de la 31e \u00e9dition\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PxETLUoQiB4?list=PLYgr2gJ-WYExdziy3sHKVcvLTGReKNH5e\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"5024\" data-end=\"5327\">Benbrahim emphasized that this international recognition results from the sustained efforts of <strong data-start=\"5119\" data-end=\"5151\">His Majesty King Mohammed VI<\/strong> and the Sovereign\u2019s personal commitment to this issue, addressing an audience composed of cultural and artistic figures as well as members of the Moroccan community in Canada.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"5329\" data-end=\"5723\">He also highlighted the unprecedented development in the <strong data-start=\"5386\" data-end=\"5419\">Southern Provinces of Morocco<\/strong> through major strategic projects, including the <strong data-start=\"5468\" data-end=\"5492\">Dakhla Atlantic Port<\/strong>, along with initiatives in healthcare, higher education, economy, logistics, and connectivity, as well as the King\u2019s African initiatives, such as the <strong data-start=\"5643\" data-end=\"5722\">Royal Initiative facilitating Sahel countries\u2019 access to the Atlantic Ocean<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"5725\" data-end=\"5924\">Benbrahim stressed that \u201cAl Massira\u201d represents <strong data-start=\"5773\" data-end=\"5921\">a significant artistic contribution to promoting patriotism and raising awareness about the Green March, especially among the younger generation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"5926\" data-end=\"6397\">In this context, the role of the <strong data-start=\"5959\" data-end=\"5994\">Moroccan Cinematographic Center<\/strong> is central: it supports the production and promotion of Moroccan cinema, facilitates the participation of national films in international festivals, and ensures the visibility of Morocco\u2019s cultural identity on the global stage. Its support for the film is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the dynamism of Moroccan cinema and enable national filmmakers to reach a diverse international audience.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"6399\" data-end=\"6648\">He added that Morocco\u2019s selection as guest of honor reflects <strong data-start=\"6460\" data-end=\"6510\">the growing global interest in Moroccan cinema<\/strong> and recognizes the vitality of the country\u2019s cultural scene, which has significantly expanded in recent years under the King\u2019s patronage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"6650\" data-end=\"7024\">This year\u2019s festival showcases a selection of Moroccan feature and short films, alongside an exhibition and professional events, including: <strong data-start=\"6790\" data-end=\"6815\">\u201cThe Heir of Secrets\u201d<\/strong> by Mohamed Nadif, <strong data-start=\"6834\" data-end=\"6850\">\u201cRue M\u00e1laga\u201d<\/strong> by Maryam Touzani, winner of the Audience Award \u201cSpotlight\u201d at the 82nd Venice Film Festival, <strong data-start=\"6945\" data-end=\"6956\">\u201cSir\u0101t\u201d<\/strong> by Oliver Laxe, and <strong data-start=\"6977\" data-end=\"7001\">\u201c13 Days, 13 Nights\u201d<\/strong> by Mathieu Bourboulon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"7026\" data-end=\"7208\">Cin\u00e9mania also highlights voices from the <strong data-start=\"7068\" data-end=\"7099\">Moroccan diaspora in Quebec<\/strong>, through a generation of creators exploring their relationship with heritage, memory, and cultural identity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"7210\" data-end=\"7415\">Founded in 1995, <strong data-start=\"7227\" data-end=\"7240\">Cin\u00e9mania<\/strong> is a cornerstone event of Montreal\u2019s cultural scene.
