In this context, Macky Sall\u2019s case sends a clear message to African leaders: <strong data-start=\"8659\" data-end=\"8743\">domestic national support is a fundamental basis for any international candidacy<\/strong>, and political and human rights conflicts within the country can directly affect its international prospects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"8857\" data-end=\"9409\">Globally, this refusal has placed the United Nations before <strong data-start=\"8917\" data-end=\"8964\">complex legal and procedural considerations<\/strong>; a candidacy for a post of such significance must rely on support from the candidate\u2019s home country, which Sall\u2019s file lacks, potentially weakening his chances in subsequent stages before the Security Council and General Assembly.
