AmericasBahrainEgyptIsraelMiddle EastMoroccoNewsUAEUS<br \/>Show Comments<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Times of Israel reported the US was planning the meeting between Israel and the Arab countries with whom it has diplomatic ties in early 2023 as the Americans push the incoming right-wing government of Benjamin Netanyahu to show restraint.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Israel and the US want other Arab countries to join the \u201cAbraham accords,\u201d especially Saudi Arabia with whom Israel share concerns about Iran\u2019s security threats.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Earlier in December, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken hailed the Negev Summit, and added that \u201cearly next year, working groups will meet to expand collaboration on key issues in the areas that we\u2019ve set out for cooperation under Negev, including health, food security, tourism, regional security.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But for Israeli foreign minister \u201cexpanding the accords to other countries is not a matter of \u2018if\u2019 but of \u2018when\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He added that Israel\u2019s ties with current Arab partners had yielded $2.85 billion in 2022 trade and \u201ca significant contribution to security (and) regional stability\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"7L6S2kE7CT\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/diplomatique.ma\/en\/2023\/01\/17\/palestine-campaign-highlights-racism-at-heart-of-new-israeli-government\/\">Palestine campaign highlights racism at heart of new Israeli government<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; Morocco and Sudan later joined them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"selectionShareable\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tel Aviv held the Negev Summit in March 2022 in the city of the Negev in southern Israel, and it included the foreign ministers of Egypt, Morocco, Bahrain, the UAE and the US.
