Today, they appeared in coffins\u2014four by four\u2014leaving the temporary morgue at the military hospital after a collective prayer, on their way to Sidi M\u2019barek cemetery. Eighteen young men were buried in the first mass funeral for victims of the tragedy of the mass crossing that took place at the end of July, while the cemetery prepares to receive dozens more. Spanish journalist Carmen Echarri, who followed the scene on the ground, writes that around 90 bodies recovered from Spanish waters by the Civil Guard may gradually find their way to graves, while the death toll on both sides of the border has exceeded 140 people, according to figures cited in her report.<\/p>\n
