{"id":902,"date":"2023-06-15T10:58:13","date_gmt":"2023-06-15T10:58:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/diplomatique.ma\/en\/?p=902"},"modified":"2023-06-15T17:24:11","modified_gmt":"2023-06-15T17:24:11","slug":"islamic-jihad-leader-meets-iran-khamenei-in-tehran","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/diplomatique.ma\/en\/islamic-jihad-leader-meets-iran-khamenei-in-tehran\/","title":{"rendered":"Islamic Jihad leader meets Iran Khamenei in Tehran"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"selectionShareable\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Iran&#8217;s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, met in the capital, Tehran, on Wednesday with the leader of Palestinian Islamic Jihad group, Ziyad Al-Nakhalah,\u00a0<i>Anadolu Agency<\/i>\u00a0reports.<\/p>\n<p class=\"selectionShareable\">Al-Nakhalah is currently on a visit to Iran, leading a delegation of senior group leaders, his first visit since last month&#8217;s Israeli air offensive on the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"GqCJkOLCHM8\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Islamic Jihad Leader Meets Iran\u2019s Supreme Leader Khamenei in Tehran\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GqCJkOLCHM8?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p class=\"selectionShareable\">At least 33 Palestinians were killed, including several Islamic Jihad leaders, in the Israeli assault, which Tel Aviv said was in response to rocket fire from Gaza.<\/p>\n<p class=\"selectionShareable\">The Israeli offensive came to a halt under an Egyptian-brokered cease-fire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"selectionShareable\">Khamenei said Israel has become &#8220;passive&#8221; and its leaders &#8220;have the reason to worry about not seeing the anniversary of 80,&#8221; according to state media.<\/p>\n<p class=\"selectionShareable\">He felicitated the Islamic Jihad leader for what he said the group&#8217;s success during the recent confrontation with Israel in Gaza. Khamenei said the recent battle in Gaza showed that the &#8220;Zionist enemy&#8221; is in a &#8220;passive position&#8221; and that the Islamic Jihad and other groups in Gaza have &#8220;identified the correct path&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"selectionShareable\">&#8220;I congratulate Islamic Jihad&#8217;s victory in Gaza&#8217;s recent battle.
